((MT Blog is down this morning, this will get copied there tonight))
Wow, for the first time in a long time, I WANT to go to work. A lack of cash led to doing a whole lot of nothing this weekend and by the end of Sunday night, I was wanting to go into work yesterday. I am in a bit of a funk lately and it was really hard to think of things to do.
Lots or resumes went out last week and since yesterday was a holiday I have to wait till today to see if anything begins coming back to me. I dont imagine much will come back today, maybe later in the week or next week. I have sent three or four resumes to a placed called Pinnacle Staffing who have yet to interview me for the 5 or 6 positions they seem to need to fill every week. I have so say that its a little discouraging.
I wish there was more stuff to talk about other then how poor I am and how little I work and blah blah blah. I really want to talk about other stuff. I want to write about computers or games or whatever, but unfortunately the current financial situtation effects everything. I could be worse. By now I could have been violent with a couple people who I feel have put me in the position I am in today. But hurting them or doing something to them wouldnt help me out much and could make things worse.
I desperately need to make things better.
Well, more hunting goes on. I sent out three resumes tonight after getting home. All three were for customer support or technical support. All were betting paying then my current job.
Hopefully something comes up. I will keep you posted.
One of my favourite soundtracks is the soundtrack to Millers Crossing.
Excellent movie and an excellent soundtrack.

What childhood toy from the 80s are you?

Switch. I am looking at changing my blogging software. I like the depth that MT has but I dont use all the tools. I dont really need to use all the tools. So it really is just a bit much. I think that perhaps I could use Blogger and be happy, but its on the low end of what I think I might need.
At this point I am trying or using Live Journal, Movable Type, Blogger and Radio. I like Blogger and MT the most with Live Journal following up last. The free version is VERY simple and seems to be very limited. Radio has serious potential. I like the layout, of both the basic templates and the posting system. I like that the software is on my home computer and not on some server I will never see (not that this is a problem now, I just like it more that its on my computer).
The most simple solution is just to go back to the old Random Fusion on Blogspot. I love the new templates that they have included and the new look of their site is a huge improvement. The only downside to it is that it doesnt REALLY allow me the room to grow my css and html skills that I would like. Movable Type has way more room for me to grow and expand. So, what to do.
At the moment I dont have the cash to go into the new Movable Type. So, I will keep using the version I have. I dont have the cash to pay for Radio Userland so that is out of the question. I think the middle ground on this is to keep using MT, post occasionally on Blogger and hope that some money comes in for me to pay for all of what I want.
Testing something.
Lets see if it works. If it does, you SHOULD see a song title and stuff at the bottom of this post.
The biggest topic of disscussion this week (for folks online) has been the changes to MT. There has been a lot of bashing going on, a lot of people talking about going somewhere else and a lot of people just trying to find out what is going on.
It appears that the people over at Six Apart underestimated the type and amount of feedback they would get. A massive portion of the feed back was negative. Most people dont like the idea of paying so much for something that was once free and at first I tended to feel the same way. I went with MT in the beginning because it was free and so was my hosting for it. I was able to do what I wanted with the software and it didnt cost me anything if I didnt feel like paying. However, now that I have had time to think on it and get a bit of perspective on the whole thing. I can see that it isnt unreasonable for the people who worked hard and long to expect something in return. At this point in time, I cant afford to get the new MT and so it looks like I may keep using my current version until something new comes along.
With the recent changes to Blogger here, perhaps I will come back to this. Who knows.
